Do you want to become a house sitter?
House sitting can be a great way to have a change from your own home, and stay in comfortable surroundings, with the enjoyment of looking after someone else’s pets. We are always looking out for competent people of high integrity with a mature outlook and friendly disposition. An appreciation of the needs of animals is also important if you are to do a combined house and pet sit. See also the about sitters page and our rules for house sitters.

You should be aware though that our selection and vetting process is thorough and will involve us checking for financial and past criminal records: if you are at all uncomfortable with this you should not apply. We also require one personal and two professional references. Once this process is complete, we arrange an interview with you. This gives us the opportunity to get to know you and your interests better, and helps in the final homesitting allocations.

Induction Training:
All our sitters are given training on Health and Safety in the home and garden, information on assessing risks, and details on our policies and procedures. Once you have completed this, your information is added to our database, so that your interests can be matched with a request for a sitter.

Meeting the Client:
With every house sit, you have the opportunity of meeting the client and their pets beforehand and this give you the opportunity of checking any specific requirements, including the details of any tasks required such as special pet care or swimming pool maintenance. You are also able to carry out the health and safety risk assessment. By the end of the meeting you will have all the details you need for a successful and enjoyable house sit.
